The Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, from its canonical founding in 1781, has been a vibrant part of Pensacola's history. The funds generated for our parish from the Catholic Sharing Appeal (CSA) are dedicated to preserving this important heritage, but also to ensuring that St. Michael's continues to inspire our parishioners and visitors today, and for years to come. Each year the diocesan bishop identifies a target amount for every parish based on the previous year's offertory income. Any amounts generated by each parish beyond the target is returned as a "rebate" to the parish church. At St. Michael's, those funds are earmarked exclusively for campus improvements. The fact that our parishioners and visitors know how important this appeal is manifest in the generosity they show each year to this fund. This also enables us as a parish to accomplish major projects without having to burden the parish with capital campaigns and other fundraising efforts. Below you will see the many projects undertaken in recent years and the anticipated projects to come, as well as the finances for each year's campaign.
