FAITH FORMATION / FAMILY CATECHESIS PROGRAM

Catholic Faith Formation programs, such as Family Catechesis, replace traditional drop-off religious education with a model that empowers parents as the primary faith educators of their children. These programs typically involve monthly, in-person parish family gatherings paired with at-home lessons to foster lifelong, domestic church-based faith formation. St. Michael's hybrid approach to Family Catechesis is a home-based program for families with preschool through high school children. It provides weekly lessons with materials to help parents teach the Catholic faith to their children at home, combined with the monthly parish family gatherings.

• Monthly Meetings: Often include a shared meal, communal prayer, hands-on activities, and a teaching session for parents to prepare them for the next month's at-home lessons.
• At-Home Lessons: Flexible, in-home instruction that allows families to learn together the pillars of the Catholic Church, including a focus on prayer practices and the liturgical calendar.
• Parent Empowerment: Program resources and support are provided by the parish for free to help parents feel confident in sharing the Catholic faith, regardless of their background.
